LAFIA – Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa State, on Monday inaugurated 11-man committee to ascertain the true financial position arrears of civil servants in the state with aim of effecting promotions of workers.
Inaugurating the committee at Government House, Lafia, Sule said the move was part of his administration’s determination towards creating a conducive working atmosphere and workers’ welfare.
“A fulfillment of this commitment in line with the resolve of this administration to address the lingering promotions and appropriate placement of workers to improve their welfare for enhanced productivity.
“As a labour-friendly governor, the issue of workers’ salaries and other issues would be resolved amicably.
“I assure you that this administration will engender a synergy with labour in order to strengthen our relationship as a panacea for efficient and effective service delivery, as well as the overall development of the state,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the members, the committee’s chairman, Hon. Philip Dada, assured the governor that they would exceed all expectations.
