University of Florida grad, roommates contract coronavirus after partying

Three Florida roommates went out to party after reasoning their college town “barely has any”  COVID-19 cases — and all ended up infected, according to a report.

University of Florida graduate Lauren Bouskila, 21, said she and her two roommates all tested positive for the virus after a night out in Gainseville, the Daily Mail reported.

In a since-deleted TikTok video, Bouskila shared a clip of the trio without masks out and sipping on drinks at an indoor bar, the outlet reported.

“Gainesville barely has any cases. We’ll be fine” she quoted them as saying. “Bars enforce safety regulations.”

But the roommates soon fell sick with symptoms of coronavirus, including fever, sweating, and stomach problems, the report said.

“I’m actually so sick,” said one of the women, according to the report.

Bouskila showed a clip of a COVID-19 test being administered then revealed that all three of them were positive for the virus, the outlet reported.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has blamed younger people for the state’s dramatic surge in coronavirus cases — claiming they can’t be forced to comply with social distancing measures.

“They’re going to do what they’re going to do,” DeSantis said at a press conference.

He said the younger population has been driving up the state’s coronavirus cases.

“If you look at that 25 to 34 age group, that is now by far the leading age group for positive tests,” DeSantis said.
