Vigilantes in Bauchi torture undergraduate to death over his mother’s theft allegation

21- year-old Abdulsalam Ibrahim, a 300level undergraduate of political science of the Bauchi State University Gadau, has been tortured to death by a vigilante group in Bauchi State.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday, after the deceased’s mother identified as Aisha Ibrahim, reported him to the vigilante group to discipline him, for Stealing her wrapper from their home in the Zango area of Bauchi metropolis.

According to a close neigbour’s report, Aisha accused her son of stealing and selling her wrapper worth N3,000 and he denied the allegation.

Aisha then invited the the vigilante group to her house and they took the victim to their office, where he was hit on the head with a bamboo stick, his finger nails forcefully removed and was beaten to a state of coma he never recovered from.

Their neigbour who blamed his mother for his death, wondered why she has not been arrested by the police.

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the incident and revealed that three members of the vigilante group have been arrested in connection with the murder.
