No plan to draw Congress list – Abia APC says

The main opposition All Progressive Congress,(APC), in Abia State, has dismissed claims that it was drawing a party Congress list.

The Abia APC stated that it has no plan to hold a congress and urged members and the general public to disregard the rumour about drawing a list for congress.

The opposition party in the State made its position known in a press release issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Benedict Godson, in Umuahia on Saturday.

Information had gone rife in the State that the Abia chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, was making up lists for congress.

But, according to Abia APC, “everybody should wait for genuine information from the party leadership in the state and national level. So, let’s ignore this handwork of our enemies and focus on where we’re heading to because we’re too close to get distracted.

“The leadership of Abia APC, ably led by the State Chairman, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, calls on every member of our great party to treat that deceitful information as a mere market square gossip, with zero grain of truth in it”.

Continuing, the Party said, “we would have allowed this particular rumour to die naturally like others that got killed by time-controlled truth, but when we saw that it was tactically crafted to distract us from progress recently recorded in our membership, we decided to set the records straight.

“We wish to remind our members that APC both at National and the State levels is just interested in two things which are: Edo State and the Ondo State Governorship elections”.

“Abia APC is committed to contributing its own efforts to ensure that our great party emerges victorious in those two important elections. We don’t have time for frivolities and cannot be distracted, “APC concluded.
