Trevor Noah Hosts “Pandemmys” To Honor Bogus Achievements By Donald Trump & Others During Coronavirus Pandemic

As we carry on with another Emmy season, Trevor Noah this week prepped The Daily Show‘s “first, and hopefully last” Pandemmy Awards to honor bogus achievements by President Donald Trump as well as others during the coronavirus pandemic.

The faux awards, Noah explained, serve to award (or should we say lambaste) performances during the public health crisis. Nominees include Mike Pence and Jared Kushner for the “Most Optimistic Performance” and quite a few nominees for “Best Karen.”

There was also a category for “Outstanding Stunt Coordination” for which nominees included Jerry Nadler, Joe and Jill Biden, as well as Pence and Trump of course.

Trump was also awarded with a very special honor for “outstanding achievement in self-editing,” referring to his reaction, comments and backtracking performed during the coronavirus pandemic over the last six months.

You can watch the clip from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah above and check out new episodes of the late night Comedy Central talk show weeknights at 11/10c.

Viewers are encouraged to vote this weekend for their favorite choice in each category on pandemmyawards.com, the results of which will be presented by Noah this week.
