Lagos-based man questions the continued existence of NURTW

A Lagos-based man has taken to social media to raise concerns over the existence of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW and why it should be scrapped.

The man identified as Abubakar, stated that the union does not provide any service considered to be of value.

According to him, NURTW is mostly an extortion agency that neither remits funds to government or provide road safety.

In a post via Twitter, the man wrote;

”NURTW doesn’t provide any valuable service to Lagos State. They don’t build bus stops, ensure road safety or remit funds to the govt. Instead they extort drivers, fight, litter bus parks and contribute to reckless driving by chasing buses and bikers.

Why do they still exist?”
