The Lagos State Police Command on Friday rescued a one-month-old abandoned baby at the Orile area.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the baby was found at 8am at the junction of Odun-Ade Filling Station.
The abandoned baby was sighted by passers-by who alerted the operatives attached to Orile Division.
The newborn has been handed over to the Gender Unit of the Police Command, Ikeja.
Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu directed that the baby be accorded proper medical attention and taken to an accredited shelter for custody and proper care.
The CP reassured the public that the security agency would continue to work with stakeholders and partners for a safer Lagos.
