U/E: Businessman declares intention to contest NPP Chairmanship race

Businessman Filson Awankua has declared his intentions to contest for the Upper East Regional Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, he is prepared and fortified physically, spirititually and emotionally to contest for the position to drive the Upper East NPP to success.

He made his intention known when he spoke to Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM.

Filson Awankua who contested for the same position and lost in 2018 the current party Chairman Anthony Namoo said “I’m prepared. If I say prepared, I mean physically, spiritually, mentally and financially. I have checked myself and I think I’m okay to give myself another chance”.

He continued “For now, I’m about 70% sure but I want to get about 99.9% surety before I can conclude that I’m going in. That consultation is still ongoing”.

Filson Awankua said he was disappointed that the NPP lost three seats in the region indicating that it’s a proof of the inability of the party to consolidate it’s gains because it failed to spot and deal in advance with issues that had the potential to cost the party.
