UEW student Ms Heartwill Selasi Tamekloe is National GRASAG President

 Ms Heartwill Selasi Tamekloe, a graduate student of the University of Education, Winneba, has been elected President of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG), after a keenly contested election at the association’s 26th National Annual Delegate Congress held over the weekend on the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

She beat her contender from the University of Ghana, Ms Paschaline Dere, to emerge as winner of the election. Her victory makes her the second female to become President in the association’s history.

Other National Executives elect include: Mr Samuel Gyandoh, General Secretary elect; Mr Jacob Yeboah Boamah, Financial Controller elect; Mr Kenneth Arthur Yamoah, Organising Coordinator elect; and Ms Nancy Oforiwaa Peprah, Gender Commissioner elect.

The national Congress, held from January 8 to January 9, 2021, was under the theme: ‘Postgraduate Education In the Midst of COVID-19; the Challenges and Prospect for Graduate Research and Innovation: an Agenda towards Ghana beyond Aid”.
