We don’t want to put pressure on players now–Preko on Olympics winning GPL

Head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Yaw Preko, says his side is not fancying any chances of winning the Ghana Premier League until the first round is over.

The Dade boys have been on a great run of form this season, picking famous wins against Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak on the road and sit second on the league log with 21 points after 12 games played.

Karela United, who are on top with 21 points also, have a game in had to be played later today against Legon Cities.

The former Ghana international believes taking title winning hopes out of conversations for now will take pressure off the players.

“We are not yet done with the first round,” he told Silver FM. “We have not covered enough grounds. For now, we don’t want to put that kind of pressure on the boys.

“We are taking it game after game and when we finish the first round, we will see how it goes,” Yaw Preko added.

Olympics next play as guests at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to Bechem United after a comfortable 3-1 win over King Faisal yesterday in round 12 of the league.
