Former Minister for Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan popularly known as Mama Taraba, is dead.
It was gathered that she battled a protracted illness before passing on at 61.

Alhassan contested the 2015 governorship election in Taraba under the All Progressives Congress (APC) but lost to incumbent Governor Darius Ishaku, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Shortly after her loss, President Muhammadu Buhari named her Minister of Women Affairs.
She however resigned from the cabinet in September 2018 after she was disqualified from contesting for the All Progressives Congress’ governorship ticket in Taraba state.
