Governor Uzodinma Suspends All Aides In His Cabinet Over Hike In Security Issues In Imo State

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State fired all Special Advisers (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) in his cabinet on Friday, June 4, in the wake of worsening insecurity in the state.

Declan Emelumba, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, confirmed the dismissal to journalists in Owerri on Friday.

Emelumba stated that a board appointed by the governor advised him to make the decision after determining that it was in the best interests of the people of the state as a whole.

The Commissioner said, “Yes, the story is true. The governor took the decision following a recommendation by a board he constituted in this regard. The idea is to make governance effective and is in the best interest of the people of the state. There is no ill-motive about it.”
