The family of late Michael Usifo Ataga, the CEO of Super TV believes there is more to the death of their kin and has issued a statement urging for the thorough investigation of his murder.
It has also urged the police to go in-depth and beyond the arrest of the named suspect, Chidinma as it believes there are more hidden intel to the matter.
Recall that Chidinma Ojukwu, a 300 level student of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos was picked up at her residence by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba. She had confessed to being the murder of Usifo last week.
Though the suspect is still in the custody of the police, the family of Usifo Ataga wants more intel to be bared by the police.

In a statement themes “Libelous publications in respect of the murder of Michael Usifo Ataga: Demand for restraint by social media practitioners/persons”, Rickey Tarfa & Co, solicitor to the family urged those responsible for hostile social media articles must refrain from disseminating falsehoods that jeopardize the deceased’s, wife’s, and children’s integrity or face legal action.
The statement, written on behalf of the law firm by Olusegun Jolaawo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), encouraged Nigerians to allow the police to perform their investigations without distraction or interference.
“We, hereby, admonish the publishers of these stories to employ whatever shreds of decency and decorum they can find in themselves to desist from their false and misleading stories and let the investigating authorities carry out effective investigation in the hope of apprehending the perpetrators of this heinous crime and their accomplices.
“Yes, we know that Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu has been arrested and, yes, we know that investigation is continuing. Our client is, however, convinced that there is much more to this than is already apparent from the police investigation,” Jolaawo said in the statement.
