I want to help Medeama win GPL title–Rashid Nortey

Medeama SC midfielder, Rashid Nortey, says his target is to help the Ghana Premier League side to win the league title at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old is beginning to find his feet for the two-time MTN FA Cup winners after missing their first two games of the season because of illness; scoring two goals in six games.

Nortey believes the Yellow and Mauves are still title contenders after beginning the season on a low and just won their first home game last weekend against Aduana Stars.

He states they know the season will be tough but are motivated for the task ahead.

“I motivated myself because last season I was playing well before COVID-19 came, so I motivated myself to do better than last season,” he told Happy FM.

“We know the league will be tougher, so we have motivated ourselves.

“My secret has been hard work and prayers. My target is to help Medeama SC to win the league. They have won the FA Cup twice and we want to win the league.

“I want to also help the nation win a trophy; that is the Black Stars.”

Rasheed Nortey also added that the return of Justice Blay to Medeama is good news.

“Before Justice Blay left for Kotoko, we were playing together in the midfield so when he came back to beef up the squad, it was welcoming news.”
