Andrew Giuliani mulling run for New York governor

Andrew Giuliani — the son of former Big Apple mayor Rudy Giuliani — is considering a run for governor of New York next year, he told The Post on Wednesday.

Giuliani would go toe-to-toe with Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the three-term Democrat currently mired in a torrent of scandals involving sexual misconduct and his handling of nursing homes.

“Yes, I’m considering running for governor,” said Giuliani, 35. “There’s an opportunity for Republicans to take back New York. Absolutely.”

A Giuliani candidacy would pit two of New York’s most prominent political families against one another in the 2022 gubernatorial race.

Cuomo is the son of former Gov. Mario Cuomo, who was elected to three terms, while Giuliani’s father, Rudy, was New York City mayor from 1994 to 2001.

Under the Trump administration, Giuliani worked as a director of the Office of Public Liaison.

The younger Giuliani said he would be meeting in Albany soon with state GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy and county Republican leaders from across the state.
