Eight people were wounded in six overnight shootings amid a surge in gun violence across the Big Apple, cops said.
Most of the incidents occurred within about a two-hour period, with one earlier in the evening.
Most recently, a 25-year-old man was sitting inside a car with a 33-year-old man on Williams Avenue near Livonia Avenue in Brownsville around 1:40 a.m. when a group of men approached and one started firing at their vehicle, according to police.
The younger man was grazed in the head and shot in the shoulder and hand, authorities said.
The older man was not shot, but suffered a cut on his hand from broken glass.
Both were taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
A little over an hour earlier, a 26-year-old man was shot once in the hand in front of a building on East 137th Street near Brown Place in Mott Haven, on the grounds of NYCHA’s Dr. Ramon E. Betances Houses II, cops said.
The victim was uncooperative with police and was taken to Lincoln Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Around midnight, a 35-year-old man was blasted once in the torso during a dispute in the lobby of a building on East 158th Street near Park Avenue, part of NYCHA’s Jackson Houses in Melrose, police said.
That victim, described as highly uncooperative, also went to Lincoln Medical Center and is expected to survive.
A few minutes before midnight, two people were shot at Rockaway Parkway and 134th Street in South Ozone Park, authorities said.
A 29-year-old man was blasted in the stomach and a 26-year-old man was shot in the back during a dispute with a man wearing all blue at the corner, cops said.
The gunman took off after the incident.
And around 11:30 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the right thigh during a dispute with another man on Amsterdam Avenue near West 126th Street in Harlem, on the grounds of the General Grant Houses, police said.
The victim, described as uncooperative, was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.
The earliest shooting of the evening happened around 8 p.m. inside the stairwell of the East 170th Street and Grand Concourse D train station in Mount Eden in the Bronx, police said.
A 26-year-old man, who was shot in the foot, went to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
The circumstances of the shooting were unclear, as he too was uncooperative, cops said.
