Two state Assemblymen — Michael Benedetto of the Bronx and Charles Fall of Staten Island — announced their endorsement of Democratic mayoral candidate Shaun Donovan this afternoon.

“Now more than ever we need experienced leadership to help guide us past the immense challenges our City is facing in the wake of Covid-19,” Fall said in a statement.

Donovan served as director of the federal Office of Management and Budget and secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Obama era. He also served as city housing commissioner under Mayor Bloomberg.

Benedetto and Fall were set to be joined this afternoon at Co-op City in the Bronx by Rev. Ian Harris, who’s running for a Bronx state Senate seat, and a local district leader John Doyle.
